The Silky Smooth formula by Xmoment is a high-viscosity water-based lubricant utilizing a carbomer-thickened polyol base. It prioritizes glide duration, using a purified water base combined with Glycerin and Propylene Glycol to provide initial slip. The silky texture is achieved via Carbomer or Hydroxyethylcellulose, creating a non-Newtonian fluid that remains thick until friction is applied.
This high-density gel prevents run-off during application and is 100% safe for use with silicone and latex materials. As the water phase evaporates, a sticky residue may occur; this can be mitigated by re-hydrating the polymers with a small mist of water to restore the glide without adding more product.
The formula is water-soluble and does not stain linens. It is noted that the high humectant content and the use of preservatives like Phenoxyethanol may be factors for those with compromised or highly sensitive skin barriers.
